Stadt für Alle (City for All)

Our voice. For Munich. For tomorrow.

Climate protection is not currently playing the role it should in political discourse. The “Stadt für Alle” campaign was launched to change this in the run-up to the 2026 local elections in Munich.

As part of the initiative group, we at Protect the Planet Munich want to make Munich socially just, climate-friendly, and sustainable.

Munich faces major challenges

Munich has set itself ambitious goals: the city aims to become climate neutral by 2035, and the administration even wants to achieve this goal by 2030. But one thing is clear: this will require more speed, determination, and political priority.

The city faces major challenges: rising rents, social inequality, hot summers, land scarcity, and a lifestyle that exceeds planetary boundaries. Munich must become a socially just, ecological, and future-proof city for all.

The 2026 local elections will show whether the city will continue resolutely on this path—or whether climate protection and social justice will stall. This is precisely why numerous civil society organizations have joined forces to form the “Stadt für Alle” initiative.

Who is behind Stadt für Alle?

Stadt für Alle is a broad alliance of more than 60 organizations, associations, and initiatives. Among the initial initiators are the Netzwerk Klimaherbst, Protect the Planet, Green City, Radentscheid München, foodsharing München e.V., BUND Naturschutz in Bayern e.V. and the Münchner Initiative Nachhaltigkeit (MIN).

Our demands for Munich for the 2026 local elections:

The demands relate to six key areas:

  • Urban planning
  • Energy
