Premiere in Berlin: urgewald-Dokumentarfilm im Kino
Ab 9. Oktober feierte der urgewald-Dokumentarfilm im Kant-Kino in Berlin Premiere, mit urgewald-Gründerin Heffa Schücking sowie Regisseur Peter Wejdling persönlich als Gästen auf dem Podium. Nach einem erfolgreichen Preview-Event im Juli in München unterstützt Protect the Planet gemeinsam mit der Sick-Umweltstiftung und den EWS Schönau die Kino-Tour zur Premiere des neuen urgewald-Films. Denn 30 Jahre urgewald – das muss man feiern, würdigen und weitererzählen.
Das Publikum in Berlin zeigte sich am Premierenabend beeindruckt von der Leidenschaft und dem selbstlosen Einsatz, den das Team von urgewald in ihre Arbeit steckt – und das schon seit 30 Jahren. Der Film selbst ist ein kraftvolles Werkzeug, um auf die dringenden Herausforderungen aufmerksam zu machen, vor denen unsere Gesellschaft weltweit heute steht: Menschenrechte, Umweltschutz, Klimakrise.
Wir bedanken uns bei W-Film für die gelungene Premiere und bei der Sick-Umweltstiftung sowie den Kolleg*innen von EWS für die tolle Zusammenarbeit. Wir wünschen urgewald und dem Film viel Erfolg und volle Kinokassen und freuen uns darauf, weiterhin gemeinsam für eine nachhaltige Zukunft zu kämpfen. Gemeinsam schaffen wir mehr!
Ab 17.10. läuft der Film deutschlandweit in den Kinos. Die Premierentour führt uns noch nach Hamburg, Köln, Bonn und Freiburg – mehr Infos hier.
Über den urgewald-Dokumentarfilm
Naturzerstörung und Missachtung von Menschenrechten – dahinter stecken oft Großkonzerne und Banken, die auch unser Geld nutzen. Seit über 30 Jahren deckt urgewald solche Finanzströme auf und leistet Widerstand gegen Zerstörung und Vertreibung. Protect the Planet-Gründerin Dorothea Sick-Thies verfolgt die Arbeit von urgewald schon seit Jahren und betont:
„urgewald ist in meinen Augen eine der erfolgreichsten Organisationen im Umweltbereich, weil sie es mit den ganz Großen aufnehmen: den Banken. urgewald zeigt, wie viel Geld immer noch in die fossilen Energien gesteckt wird, fossile Energien, die unsere Erde letztendlich zerstören. Das muss endlich aufhören“, so Dorothea Sick-Thies.
Engagement für Klimagerechtigkeit ist kein Sprint, sondern ein Marathon – mit Momenten der Erschöpfung, aber auch mit Etappen, auf die wir stolz zurückblicken können, weil wir dran geblieben sind.

Protect the Planet supports the world's first constitutional complaint for better nature conservation legislation. Together with several individual plaintiffs, the German Association for the Environment and Nature Conservation (BUND) is bringing a case before the Federal Constitutional Court – for a comprehensive and effective biodiversity law.
Together with the DUH and the Umweltinstitut München (Munich Environmental Institute), we are suing for a ban on the environmental toxin sulfuryl fluoride.
