Seit über 30 Jahren deckt die Umwelt- und Menschenrechtsorganisation urgewald solche Finanzströme auf und leistet Widerstand gegen Zerstörung und Vertreibung. urgewald hat Zwangsumsiedlungen verhindert, Streumunitionskredite blockiert und den Bau eines Atomkraftwerks gestoppt: Der Dokumentarfilm erzählt die Geschichte des kleinen Vereins, der zur einflussreichen Organisation wurde – zum Anwalt für Umwelt und Menschenrechte.
